PMR drives are done, welcome SMR

In a prior linked article we re-posted flash is not taking over the world. New disk technologies like SMR will continue to increase the densities and lower the cost point for capacity storage. SMR drives have different write characteristics and interfaces - since we are geeks, we like learning about how they work. We think traditional systems may struggle with the new format, what do you think?
