Backup Reporting Made Simple - Customize, Save and Share Reports

By Andy Ferris on May 29, 2020

The month of May has been an exciting month at Igneous, we’ve just launched new capabilities for DataDiscover and DataFlow that allow customers full visibility into their data anywhere it lives and the ability to move data to anywhere it needs to be. These two products complement the Igneous suite of SaaS offerings including DataProtect that provides protection for billions of files and exabytes of data.  With Igneous you can discover, protect and move all your unstructured data.

But in the midst of all of these new capabilities, we also introduced some powerful new reporting features. The new reporting experience further enhances what Igneous DataProtect subscribers expect: simplicity and scalability for file data protection.

With newly enhanced features in our interactive task reports, DataProtect customers can create custom reports, save those reports for repeat usage, and share report URLs for collaboration. Here’s a quick walkthrough of the new experience:

Customizing reports
Select a date range, task type (backup, archive, restore), policies and systems to include or narrow down by volume, just a few simple clicks.

Saving and sharing reports
Once you’ve built the report all the filters will be stored in the url of the report. Bookmarking this URL will allow you to return to this report at any time. You can share this URL with any stakeholders with Igneous access, or download a CSV file.

Monitoring protection
Once you’ve built the report there are several features that allow you to understand what’s happening at a system level.

Toggle on and off tasks by clicking on the colored square next to the status label. If you find a task you want to review, click on the task in the task list below the graph for more detailed information.

Monitor and track progress of any task with our simple, interactive interface that provides peace of mind for you and your stakeholders at a glance. For more information on how to use the new features, check out our related knowledge base articles here:
